The contrast was an important point in the theme of this picture:
Are we all islands. Out there in a neverending ocean. And between us a gap that nothing ever could bridge? Or is there somewhere a hidden connection, a forgotten bridge which we don't know (anymore)? Roots that amounts deep in sort of a human soil? Or whatever.
Okay, I didn't get the island thing - I am a literalist I guess. Just looked like a very nice still life of flowers, but ok, I can dig the Island thing... If you were an island, which island would you be? I think I would like to be Tasmania or Borneo - somewhere wild and dangerous. DM, you'd probably be Gilligan's Island, eh? Just kidding!!
I first had to google this "Gilligan's Island"... what a mean joke that is ;D
Tasmania would really give me the shits! No, I would like to be more like Ireland: green and rainy, a little desperate, but heeps of beers and music ;) hehe, oh yeah!!
And Phos: I really like your sense of humour, but this time you've gone to far! How can you think I'm doing a "nice still life of flowers"?!! I never do still lifes!! ;D
Actually, I saw it in a different light. A taller, maybe more mature being looking at a younger one, or someone looking up to another entity with admiration and respect.
Steph: I wish I felt the way you do about it. Maybe I must try harder.
Chickybabe: You mean something like Michelangelo's 'Making of Adam'. Where God reaches down to touch Adam's fingers with his own... Oh, how can I dare to even think Michelangelos name in the same second as mine! ;)

Well I'm not a big fan of flowers and stuff. But something made me create this thingy.
Pictures of flax flowers (lin) are glued on a background of oil pastels.
I think in a strange way it has something very painful in it...
What do you guys think?
It would be painful only if Flax has thorns. I think it is quite nice, good balance of color and good sense of design. I like it.
I like the tones and contrast, especially the purple.

I don't get painful when i look at it. I get peaceful.

unbreakable: Yes, I think we all know that. I just tried to be a little bit modest...
